I can't believe it has been 8 years already. I was only in grade 6. Our school kept it from us and let our parents tell us when we got home. I remember feeling so shocked when I saw what had happened. I ended up watching the footage for days. My Mom cried for days. Just an FYI, while Brian Smith isn't playing gay on SGU (which I am so ready for it to start) he did play gay in the movie "Hate Crime." I haven't seen that movie yet, it's sitting in my Netflix streaming queue waiting for me to get to it.

Also I love that SGU has a gay connection to Ugly Betty. David Blue who's going to be the nerdy science guy, played none other than Cliff. You know, Marc St. James' boyfriend.

I don't believe it was some conspiracy to get the pastor arrested, before his Obama comments he wasn't even known. The thing is, the right wing wants the US to be illegal immigrant free, but won't comply with being checked. How else do they propose keeping the illegals out? Also you can't expect a border officer to risk their own life trying to drag a non compliant man out of his vehicle, especially if the dog has signaled he may have drugs. I do not particularly subscribe to this guys theology, as irrelevant as that is to this issue, but I would say this was unnecessary abuse of power and use of unwarranted excessive force at the very least. I do believe his civil liberties were violated.

However, I did find good arguments in Cody B.'s comment and I am persuaded to do further research into zoophilia. Whether or not I change my mind about the particulars of this practice, I have always believed its practitioners should be free from persecution...and, for that matter, prosecution.
