Homophobic Harassment Caught On Tape

A video has been going around online showing a gay man leaving a gay pride festival being taunted by a bunch of kids. The video description says:
“My friend and I were leaving the Gay Pride Festival in Minneapolis, MN (6/27/09) and came across a group of Somalian kids who asked my friend if he was gay. When he answered "yes", they proceeded to harass him and me with verbal threats and even throwing rocks at my friend at one point. Sad...”

I hope they're all arrested and sent to prison where some guy named Bubba will make them all his bitches!
If 'gay is not the way', then 'straight is not my fate'.
Should've responded with, "I don't care that your parents decided to inflict Islam upon you. You don't know how different and free your lives could be without subscribing to a religion of hatred. You could live a free life without fear of 'hell'. You wouldn't even have to wear those silly little pyjamas."

Big surprise that the officers walked right past the developing mob.
Joe.My.God noted that the victim "maintained his composure beautifully". I respect the victim's poise... but maybe playing nice is the whole problem. (Of course, had he stood up to these little pricks, CAIR would have been all over his ass accusing him of racism.)
This is a cultural problem found in many immigrant communities where the population originated from fiercely homophobic societies. It sucks in Minnesota that people "play the race card" as quickly as possible to scare off real debate and conversations shut down. Even Outfront Minnesota, the state's leading LGBT advocacy organization, in reaction to the incident, commits to "helping address racism within the GLBT community", but what about addressing homophobia in immigrant communities?
How awful that those useless officers passed right by what could have turned into a hate crime. Those officers should be investigated by the Minneapolis police department.
